In honor of Jupiter turning direct today (and all other planets are now too) I felt like pulling up some art that just makes me happy when I look at it. Which artist or piece puts a big smile on your face? Tell me.

So many ideas, so little time
This is how the contents of my sketchbook mostly look like. Messy, and scratchy. Just lots of ideas, not much time spent on the outcome- that's what happens on the canvas. But lately the ideas are far outweighing the painting, and I'm itching to work more.

Front Door
Our house is a sage green color with a rust red front door. While I would never choose sage green, it's something that will stay for a while. But the rusty red really needs to be replaced. I'm thinking purple!
I also want climby, viney things all over the outside. So I will be buying lots of trailing hydrangeas and ivy and what not come spring.
oh. And I am in great need of this rabbit door knocker from Anthropolgie. Cause Haas means rabbit. See? We NEED it.

Butcher Paper
Because I am a little tired of canvases right now and feel the need to paint much much larger, I brought out the craft paper this morning. Sure, I'll just toss this, but I really need to find an economical way to start painting jumbo scale again.
Ivy helped me hang
She's so proud.
This is still not big enough for me. Maybe I'm just a mural artist just waiting to bust out?

Why haven't I been titling?
That insanity will stop now! Don't worry people. No more confusion over what exactly it is that I'm trying to say with my posts.
So. I am still working on this gal:
See her short hair? Obviously I'm thinking about hair A LOT.
Also been doing several astrology readings this week. Want one? Wanna give one as a gift? They are super awesome and everyone should have one done. Call me!

These positive political posters (say that 3 times) are from the design competition of, um, Positive Posters. It's a non-profit organization that holds a annual contest for graphic designers that tackle global issues. The company is based in Australia, but the competition is worldwide.

We made some super crafty flowers in my art class the other day and I thought, why stop there? Let's just Etsy the hell out of my house! The kids were like, "YAY!" except for Liam who just played Super Mario the whole time. And Louie. He thought it was lame.
Ivy reaching for and then later spilling all the buttons. Big sobs.
There's no crying in Flower Making!!
Look how pretty they are!
I found this idea here.

I am really fascinated with the artwork of Katy Horan. It's this kind of anal retentiveness that I will never have the patience for, but I so appreciate. Plus it's just damn beautiful!
Let's forget about art for a minute and focus on something much more important. My hair. It's too long I think.

Soon I am gonna chop it all off. Or maybe an inch or two.

I am so ready to get back to work! Normalcy has returned now that school has started back up and I am spending some time getting inspiration on what to do next. Did ya'll know how much I like Folk Art? Yeah, ok, there is some REALLY bad stuff out there, but the stuff that is good just gets me all excited to paint. All that color! Let's take a gander shall we?

In other news, I am thrilled that Downton Abbey has started back up. The very funny Jenny of MFAMB has given a hilarious recap of the season 3 premiere. Go read (and watch her nail Elizabeth McGovern) now!
